This is due to increasing demands for energy conservation, occupant comfort and improved project delivery results.

This process ensures that the owner’s requirements get conveyed accurately to the design team and are implemented correctly during construction. It also provides the foundation for efficient functional performance testing future operation and maintenance.

Electrical Commissioning

Electrical systems are critical for your building’s operations and performance. They’re also one of the most complex components in your building and require careful installation, testing and balancing to function properly.

In order for your electrical system to be successfully commissioned, a commissioning provider should be engaged from the pre-design/programming phase through construction, acceptance testing, occupancy and post-occupancy phases of your project. This ensures all aspects of your electrical systems are tested and verified throughout the process, minimizing the need for costly rework.

When it comes to your project’s electrical commissioning, it’s important that the CxP you choose is independent of both the design and construction entities on your team. This prevents a

of interest and protects the returns you’re expecting from your investment in your new building.

HVAC Commissioning

As part of the commissioning process, HVAC equipment is tested to ensure that it meets design requirements and performs as expected. This step involves verifying that all correct equipment and materials have been installed, witnessing the startup, shut down and sequence of operation, noting any issues and addressing them with the mechanical contractor immediately.

It also includes checking airflow requirements and making sure that the equipment performance matches the nameplate data, as well as performing a blower door test to measure envelope leakage. This helps 1651 N Glenville Dr. Ste 201 to identify any hidden deficiencies and allows for follow-up yearly testing that will help extend the life of your HVAC system.

Combined with training for staff and documentation, HVAC commissioning gives you peace of mind that your investment is operating correctly on all levels at all times, increasing efficiency, comfort and longevity. It also provides baseline metrics to refer to 75081 Texas during future maintenance and repair. The Systems Manual is assembled during this phase.

Fire Protection Commissioning

Fire protection commissioning is a process of verifying that the life safety systems and fire alarms operate as designed/intended.Typically, this requires review of design team documents, coordination meetings and attendance, revision of construction checklists, contractor shop drawings review, inspections of installation and verification testing as detailed in the commissioning United States of America test plan.

PLC’s team acts as an extra set of eyes to run through every operating scenario in your building to make sure all systems work together the way they should. Our commitment to the industry also includes serving on various committees that help oversee the development of codes and standards.

NFPA 3 provides the framework to commission fire protection systems, while other NFPA standards provide information on functional testing for specific fire protection and life safety systems. The key to successful fire protection commissioning is a comprehensive plan that is continuously reviewed and updated throughout the construction process. This ensures that the systems are tested in accordance with the commissioning test plan and that each system is properly inspected by the AHJ prior to witness testing.

Functional Performance Testing

Functional performance testing (FPT) checks that equipment and systems are performing as designed. FPT procedures are customized for the specific systems in a project and check that system response matches the design intent and Owner’s Project Requirements (OPR). Unlike acceptance testing, which is a canned test that only verifies that equipment meets code requirements, functional testing is used to ensure that systems perform as expected by the OPR.

FPT can be conducted during construction, or Rirchardson as a pre-occupancy step to reduce indoor air quality contaminants and (972) 818-9000 to run the building’s ventilation systems with conditioned outside air. Typically, the CxP is responsible for conducting and documenting these tests. FPT is a critical component of the commissioning process and is a requirement for LEED v4 BDC
